Amy Wicks, D.C.
Chiropractic Physician
Board Certified in Acupuncture
Dr. Amy Wicks began her career at Lindenwood University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. During her time at Lindenwood, she had a part time job working for a chiropractor who used the techniques of Applied Kinesiology, Clinical Kinesiology, and Namburidpad's Allergy Elimination Technique in the office. She was amazed how well Applied Kinesiology was able to help so many people. This enticed Dr. Amy to continue her education into chiropractic college after she received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration but this would entail further undergraduate work before being accepted into the Doctor of Chiropractic program. After a year of additional undergraduate work, she was finally ready to begin coursework for the Doctor of Chiropractic program. However, after 5 straight years of college education she decided to take some time off of school.
During her long break, she met her husband, gained a wonderful stepson and had two beautiful boys. At the age of 6 months, her youngest son was projectile vomiting almost all foods he ate. She spoke to the pediatrician about this phenomenon and he told her to "just keep trying to feed him different things". This answer was extremely discouraging. She knew something was not right with her son. She remembered the chiropractor she worked for many years earlier. A workup was done in her office which revealed "food sensitivities" to almost everything he was tested. He began treating with NAET treatments and started to do much better. A year later, when her oldest son began Kindergarten, she decided it was time to start her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. During her second year in chiropractic college, her youngest son had began showing many behavioral characteristics similar to Autism at the age of 3. Since her stepson does have the diagnosis of mild autism, and Dr. Wicks had postgraduate work in Autism, she was familiar with the signs. After many phone calls from school about behavioral issues and visits to the principal's office, Dr. Wicks' decided to have him evaluated for the NAET Autism Protocol. He showed positive for many of the items. After many NAET treatments, he is now soaring in his education.
During her time at Logan College of Chiropractic, she was the recipient of the "Student Doctor Award" that is given to one graduating candidate in recognition of exceeding the graduation requirements and awarded the "Dean's List Certificate".
She has taken additional postgraduate coursework in Applied Kinesiology, Clinical Kinesiology, NAET Allergy Elimination Technique, JMT Arthritis Technique, Thyroid Dysfunction, Autoimmune disorders, Digestive problems, and Allergies.
Dr. Wicks' passion is to help others that seem to have nowhere else to turn. She specializes in treating hard to treat conditions including (but not limited to) back pain, headaches, neurological conditions, digestive issues, arthritis, food sensitivities, seasonal allergies, and many more. When the body is functioning optimally, the way it was designed, then it has the ability to heal itself. With adjustments, proper nutrition and balancing the body's systems using AK and CK procedures and/or NAET, it is then able to function optimally.
